If you are looking to qualify for inclusion in series “The Unheralded Artists of BC”

FIRST send Query Letter and SASE.

THE QUERY LETTER:

FIRST mail query letter with SASE. Include a brief bio, outline,

publishing credits, research skills, art history, curatorial and or

related life experience. No email queries will be considered. Response

time 2-3 months.

UNSOLICITED MANUSCRIPTS - Reading/Submission Fee of $25

For all unsolicited manuscripts sent without first mailing the query

letter ( above) there will be a $25. reading/submission fee. Send a

cheque made out to Mother Tongue Publishing Limited. Mail a covering

letter and cheque with SASE. Include an in-depth bio, exhibition info,

art copyright info, colour and or b&w copies of a wide spectrum of

your art. Past to present. Include philosophy and/or brief artist’s

statement and why you feel you are an unheralded B.C. artist. Type,

double-space, number and proof-read your submission. Include name,

address, email and phone number. You must have been an artist in B.C.

in the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and/or 60’s. If you making a query on

behalf of a family member or are a friend of a deceased artist, the

same guidelines apply. There are many artists that we would like to

include in this series, and, depending on how successful the series

is, we will open the list as the press grows, pairing the selected

artist with a good writer. No email queries accepted. Do not send

original work. Send full postage amount if you want everything

returned. Response time 4-6 months.

In time we will consider books on B.C. artists from the 1970’s onwards.
