Shirley Graham

Blue Notes—20 poems

Authors

"Shirley Graham's poems are marvelous—magical and metaphorical; they range from seemingly simple descriptions that are not simple at all, but carefully crafted perceptions, to playful philosophical musings that are as wise and discerning as the bluest eye, each one as surprising and poignant in its effect as the blue vase she so aptly captures. I am reminded of the poems of Roo Borson—deceptively simple in appearance, a lot more gets said than the few words would lead one to believe. And it is said beautifully.
