Guidelines for The Search for the Great BC Novel or Novella- Deadline May 31, 2009

We are not accepting full poetry manuscripts for our trade wing. We will consider regional based B.C. art research/interviews/history, literary history, B.C. based literary novels (no short fiction), creative non-fiction, and especially well-researched manuscripts or proposals of manuscripts for the following B.C Artists:

To be considered for the The Unheralded Artists of BC Series, write;

THE QUERY LETTER:

FIRST mail query letter with SASE. Include a brief bio, outline, publishing credits, research skills, art history, curatorial and or related life experience. No email queries will be considered. Response time 2-3 months. Preference given to Canadian writers.

UNSOLICITED MANUSCRIPTS - Reading/Submission Fee of $25

For all unsolicited manuscripts sent without first mailing the query letter ( above) there will be a $25. reading/submission fee. Send a cheque made out to Mother Tongue Publishing Limited. Include full return postage on a self-addressed stamped envelope or work will not be returned. Do not send original work. No email submissions. Type, double-space, number, and proof-read. Put name on each page. Include covering letter with name, address, email and phone number plus bio and marketing ideas. Response time 4-6 months. If SASE or cheque is not included manuscript will not be returned.

On Acceptance: Writers will receive a contract.
